Marina Pomer
Luka Palmizana

Luka Palmizana, Island of Sv. Klement (Croatia)

Already years ago - long before Marina Palmizana has been build - Luka Palmizana on the northern side of the island Sveti Klement has already been one of the most favourite bays in the central Adriatic sea. The reason: The bay offered perfect protection for all possible wind conditions and directions and the water has been fabulously clean and warm. Only the "Bora" - a strong wind from the main land - cause's long waves and annoying swell in the bay - still also under those conditions without any risks for boats and sailors.

Today, after the installation of the ACI Marina in Luka Palmizana the bay lost a little of it's original appeal, although it is still one of the nicest in entire Adriatic Sea.

Approach & Entrance: Without intimate knowledge of the area only recommended during the day. Directly in front of the entry is the reef Hr. Baba, with a beacon on in since the mid 80s. The reef can be passed on both sides, you should keep a safety distance of at least 20 meters on either side.

Berths & Moorings: During summer, when the marina is open, possible sites are shown to you by marineros. The south-eastern part of the bay with its little MOLE and mini-harbour has to stay free for local boats and shuttle ferries to the main harbour of Hvar.

Facilities & Services You will find a small supermarket market with very limited offer within the marina. A repair shop exists, but has a questionable reputation. Very good, not to say famous, is the restaurant "Dagmar" in the southern bay of Palmizana which can easily be reached by a five minute walk over a well maintained foot path.

Water & Fuel: The marina offers water on all pontoon, a water pipeline to the island of Hvar exists. In Hvar you will also find the next filling station. Here you need to be aware of the extremely low water depths in front of the filling station.
